Our mission, which permeates through all our brands and everything we do at EC, is to help students succeed in a global community. The Young Learner division at EC does this through a wide portfolio of brands including the award-winning Embassy Summer, our tailor-made StudyTours programmes, and the newly launched Global Achievers Academy.

We offer immersive and life-changing experiences for young students aged anywhere between 8-17, all over the world. Embassy Summer

We offer award winning summer vacation programmes for young people across multiple locations in the UK, USA, Canada, Malta, UAE & South Africa. Students learn either English or French whilst immersing themselves in the local culture and surroundings. Our programmes are a combination of language classes, exciting excursions and fun-filled sporting, creative and social activities.

From its humble beginnings in Hastings over four decades ago, Embassy Summer has today evolved in to a globally recognised and trusted brand. Global Achievers Academy

With a focus on helping to nurture the future leaders of the world, the Global Achievers Academy takes place over 4 summers in 4 unique destinations. Students will travel as a cohort, meeting each other at the age of 13 at our academy in Boston. They will then move through our academies in London, Singapore and Cape Town, before graduating from the academy at the age of 17.

The Global Achievers Academy equips our students with a mixture of classroom learning as well as the opportunity to volunteer in local communities, building a strong foundation in the fields of finance and economics, leadership & global politics, the environment & sustainability, and technology & the future - all the while nurturing critical lifeskills and building a network which will serve them throughout their professional lives.

Position Summary:

Activity Leaders are at the forefront of delivering a successful activity programme, providing instruction, guidance and coaching to the students, whilst ensuring all activities are delivered to provide a safe, secure, and tolerant environment in a proactive and engaged manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of students for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
Ensure the activities and excursions operates to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety and safeguarding practices.
Manage and instruct during onsite activities sessions ensuring full student participation at all times.
Manage and lead offsite excursions ensuring full student participation at all times.
Act as a positive role model, promoting teamwork, inclusivity, respect and cultural awareness.
Maintain high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism in all interactions with students and colleagues.
Clearly communicate information, instructions, and expectations to students during activities, trips, and excursions
Actively engage with students at all times, ensuring they feel included, supported, and encouraged to participate fully in activities, trips, and residential life.
Maximise student and group leader satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds their expectations.

Specific duties include:

To lead, supervise, motivate & engage students on activities and trips.
To enthusiastically promote the Activity Programme
To ensure adequate preparation & set up for on/offsite activities.
Prepare and deliver engaging information for walking tours, incorporating interactive tasks and photo opportunities for students.
Escort and supervise students on excursions, walking tours, and cultural visits, ensuring they understand schedules, meeting points, and expected behaviour.
Monitor student engagement, attendance, and behaviour, reporting any issues to management as necessary.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and briefings as required.
To maintain levels of student discipline, safety, and welfare
To assist in day-to-day general duties as required.
To work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people.
To carry out operational and residential duties to meet centre needs.
To create a positive, inclusive and safe workplace environment.
To ensure all stock is returned after each session and to report any damages.

This role requires regular physical activity, including walking, lifting, and carrying stock
to support daily operations.

Organisational Compliance:

The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.
Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.

Education Required:

Educated to A-Level or equivalent.

Additional Qualifications Desired:

Valid First Aid Certificate 
Specialism in sports coaching, drama, or dance

Experience Desired: 

Summer School experience, preferably in a multi-cultural environment
Experience in working in, or qualifications in hospitality
Experience in working in a customer facing environment
Specialism in sports coaching, drama, or dance

Working week:

6 days out of 7 (1 day off per week)
42 hours per week

Staff uniform:
All staff are required to wear the designated company uniform while on duty. Employees must ensure that the uniform is worn properly, maintained in a clean and presentable condition, and always adheres to the company’s dress code standards.
