About EC English - Young Learners

Our mission, which permeates through all our brands and everything we do at EC, is to help students succeed in a global community. The Young Learner division at EC does this through a wide portfolio of brands including the award-winning Embassy Summer, our tailor-made StudyTours programmes, and the newly launched Global Achievers Academy.

We offer immersive and life-changing experiences for young students aged anywhere between 8-17, all over the world. Whether it's helping our young learners to improve their English Language skills, or giving them the skills to become a global citizen - our students & their welfare are at the centre of all that we do.

Embassy Summer

We offer award winning summer vacation programmes for young people across multiple locations in the UK, USA, Canada, Malta, UAE & South Africa. Students learn either English or French whilst immersing themselves in the local culture and surroundings. Our programmes are a combination of language classes, exciting excursions and fun-filled sporting, creative and social activities.

From its humble beginnings in Hastings over four decades ago, Embassy Summer has today evolved in to a globally recognised and trusted brand. Our vision is to help our students succeed in a global community. We love bringing our young learners from around the world together through a common language and building global connections.

Global Achievers Academy

With a focus on helping to nurture the future leaders of the world, the Global Achievers Academy takes place over 4 summers in 4 unique destinations. Students will travel as a cohort, meeting each other at the age of 13 at our academy in Boston. They will then move through our academies in London, Singapore and Cape Town, before graduating from the academy at the age of 17.

The Global Achievers Academy equips our students with a mixture of classroom learning as well as the opportunity to volunteer in local communities, building a strong foundation in the fields of finance and economics, leadership & global politics, the environment & sustainability, and technology & the future - all the while nurturing critical lifeskills and building a network which will serve them throughout their professional lives.

Our academies offer students aged 13-17 from all over the world the opportunity to join us in prestigious locations renowned for their academic excellence, to take part in a truly unique and exciting academic summer school experience. As an Activity Leader, you’ll be the one making things happen! You’ll lead games, trips, and activities, get everyone involved, and make sure every student has an amazing, safe, and unforgettable experience. Think energy, teamwork, and positive vibes all the way.

Bring loads of energy and enthusiasm to everything you do.

Run on-site activities that get everyone involved and having fun.

Take charge of off-site excursions — explore, motivate, and lead the group with confidence.

Communicate clearly so everyone knows what’s going on and what’s next.

Get stuck in — chat, laugh, and make sure every student feels included.

Help make every student’s experience one they’ll never forget.

Who are we looking for?

Every year we welcome thousands of students from all over the globe and they’re coming to us for a memorable experience. We need fun, energetic and engaging people to make sure all our clients go home with a smile on their face. You’ll get to see the sights, go to all the tourist attractions and meet people from all over the world. We take care of your food and accommodation; we just need you to take care of the people who keep us in business – the students!

Organisational Compliance

You’ll be expected to follow our company’s Code of Conduct and any local policies that cover academics, welfare, and safeguarding — basically, doing your bit to help create a safe and positive environment for everyone.

We also take Health & Safety seriously! You’ll need to stick to all safety rules, complete any required training, and follow any control measures from risk assessments to keep yourself and others safe.

Education Required

You’ll need to be a High School Graduate or have a GED equivalent.

Extra Qualifications (Nice to Have)

A valid First Aid Certificate

Any specialism in sports coaching, drama, or dance

Experience Required

No previous work experience? No problem!

We’re looking for people with common sense, great communication skills, and a positive attitude. You’ll get full training to do the job well — and it’s a great way to gain real-world experience and build up your CV!

Experience Desired

Experience at a summer school, especially with people from different cultures

Any background or qualification in hospitality or customer service

Experience in sports coaching, drama, or dance
Knowledge of the local area

Working week:

6 days out of 7 (1 day off per week)

40 hours per week

Compensation:

Hourly rate: starting at $21.50
