Our mission, which permeates through all our brands and everything we do at EC, is to help students succeed in a global community. The Young Learner division at EC does this through a wide portfolio of brands including the award-winning Embassy Summer, our tailor-made StudyTours programmes, and the newly launched Global Achievers Academy.

We offer immersive and life-changing experiences for young students aged anywhere between 8-17, all over the world. Embassy Summer

We offer award winning summer vacation programmes for young people across multiple locations in the UK, USA, Canada, Malta, UAE & South Africa. Students learn either English or French whilst immersing themselves in the local culture and surroundings. Our programmes are a combination of language classes, exciting excursions and fun-filled sporting, creative and social activities.

From its humble beginnings in Hastings over four decades ago, Embassy Summer has today evolved in to a globally recognised and trusted brand. Global Achievers Academy

With a focus on helping to nurture the future leaders of the world, the Global Achievers Academy takes place over 4 summers in 4 unique destinations. Students will travel as a cohort, meeting each other at the age of 13 at our academy in Boston. They will then move through our academies in London, Singapore and Cape Town, before graduating from the academy at the age of 17.

The Global Achievers Academy equips our students with a mixture of classroom learning as well as the opportunity to volunteer in local communities, building a strong foundation in the fields of finance and economics, leadership & global politics, the environment & sustainability, and technology & the future - all the while nurturing critical lifeskills and building a network which will serve them throughout their professional lives.

Embassy Summer, part of EC English, delivers international summer language programmes for young learners. Our programmes combine English language learning with cultural experiences, excursions, and recreational activities in a safe and supportive environment.

We welcome students from a wide range of international backgrounds and aim to provide a structured programme that supports both language learning and cultural exchange.

Position Summary:

The Activity Leader supports the delivery of the centre’s activity programme and helps ensure that students have a safe, organised, and enjoyable experience during their stay.

This role involves supervising students during activities and excursions, supporting engagement in the programme, and assisting with the smooth operation of the centre.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the planning and delivery of daily activity programmes, including sports, cultural activities, and excursions.

Supervise groups of students during on-site activities and off-site visits.

Ensure student safety and wellbeing at all times in accordance with centre policies.

Provide clear instructions and guidance to students during activities.

Encourage student participation and positive interaction among participants.

Maintain accurate attendance records and report any concerns to senior staff.

Assist with preparation and organisation of activity materials and equipment.

Support the centre team with general operational duties when required.

Organisational Compliance:

The job holder will be expected to operate in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct, and any local policies and operating procedures relating to academic, welfare and safeguarding matters.

Employees are required to cooperate fully with all arrangements in place related to Health and Safety which include implementation and compliance with control measures resultant from risk assessments and engagement with, and completion of, any relevant Health and Safety training.

Education Required:

Educated to Gaokao or equivalent.

Additional Qualifications Desired:

Valid First Aid Certificate

Specialism in sports coaching, drama, or dance

Experience Required:

No prior work experience is required for the role of activity leader however we do look for candidates with a lot of common sense and great communication skills.  We provide the necessary training to carry out the role effectively and this is a great opportunity to gain valuable professional skills to add to your CV!

Experience Desired: 

Summer School experience, preferably in a multi-cultural environment

Experience in working in, or qualifications in hospitality.

Experience in working in a customer facing environment.

Specialism in sports coaching, drama, or dance.

Personal Attributes:

Excellent organisational and planning skills.

Ability to deal with and resolve complex problems and issues.

Ability to motivate and engage students.

Ability to work under pressure.

Working week:

6 days out of 7 (1 day off per week)

40 hours per week

Staff uniform:

All staff are required to wear the designated company uniform while on duty. Employees must ensure that the uniform is worn properly, maintained in a clean and presentable condition, and always adheres to the company’s dress code standards.
